2. No warranty — accuracy
RailCalcs is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. While every effort is made to ensure formulae and calculations are correct, the accuracy of results is not guaranteed. Errors, omissions, or approximations may exist.
The authors accept no liability for loss, damage, injury, or consequence arising from use of or reliance on the outputs of any calculator.
3. Not professional engineering advice
RailCalcs does not provide professional engineering advice. The tools are intended as aids for qualified engineers and experienced track practitioners who can evaluate the relevance and correctness of results in context.
Results should always be cross-checked against:
- Applicable standards, codes of practice, and network rules
- Site-specific conditions and constraints
- Independent engineering calculations or peer review
4. Acceptable use
RailCalcs is free to use for personal, educational, and professional reference purposes. You may not:
- Redistribute or sell the application or its content
- Use automated tools to scrape or bulk-access the site
- Misrepresent outputs as independently verified engineering results

6. Third-party software and services
RailCalcs uses open-source components and third-party services including Bootstrap (MIT licence), Bootstrap Icons (MIT licence), and MapLibre GL JS (BSD-style licence). Mapping tools may also request map tiles from third-party providers (for example, OpenStreetMap tile services) and are subject to those providers' availability, terms, usage policies, and attribution requirements.
7. Mapping disclaimer
Map imagery, geolocation positioning, and derived map-based measurements are provided for reference only and may contain offsets, delays, or other inaccuracies. They must not be used as the sole basis for design, set-out, or safety-critical decisions.
8. Changes
These terms may be updated at any time without notice. Continued use of the site following any change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
